Good Question...Very debatable(what came first-the egg or the hen) , I'm sure there would be quite a few people taking sides on this one.

I'm a big F1 buff, couple of years ago when Narain Karthikeyan was driving, I remember the comentators mentioning in quite a few races the Narain would definitely be a revelation if given a chance to drive a Mclaren or a Ferrari.
But what I honestly think is it is the right combination of the car, the driver, the manufacturer and the technical team in place that makes the difference(Luck is another major factor which can't really be ruled out).
Think of scenarios where they have the best of every thing is perfect and the driver is just an average guy.
Well lets say the driver is the best that is available, but the team is sloppy.
What if the aerodynamics or the engine or the clutch were not right?
Take the example of last year of F1. Ferrari was clearly ahead.
Couple of years ago it was Renault.
Prior to that it was Ferrari
and before that it was Mclaren.

I guess it is just the right combination of every thing or Most of the things is what matters.

well if that is the case then wht would u say if in a gokart race i was able to thrash my friend in a 100cc kart while he was in a 250cc kart but still yeah every thing comes to count but machines are machines they can be tuned till a level they can be honed to perfection but i say the human factor gives all the perfection a snag of unpredictability i guess a car is never fast its the driver that can take out the full potential of the car and even more after all u can never push any machine beyond its limits cos it breaks but a human can push his limits and create new ones.

hello.
Thank you for sharing.

sorry to be the bearer of bad news but there is no such thing as a sensible AND sporty/fast car for a young driver!! it's either one or the other! and if it is sporty or fast its gonna kill u on insurance - that is just a fact of life!

punto sporting are quite low on insurance for their speed - i would avoid the vtS saxo as its not THAT much better than the vtR but the insurance is a lot more - anything like that is generally fairly nippy and not gonna clobber you on insurance.

better still - put up with a crap car for a few more years, put all your extra money in a savings account, and when your a bit older, have a few years of NCD and have a few more years of driving experience under your belt, you can go buy whatever car you want as you will have loads of savings and wont need to worry about insurance :)
